Reverse prayer bondage position

reverse_prayer_tieLike any contortion activity, reverse prayers can cause severe damage if untrained people do it, especially, but not restricted to, damage to the shoulders, upper arms and wrists.
In addition, this exercise can stimulate the solar plexus, so people with respiratory or cardial symptoms should refrain from doing this
Don’t try this unless you’re a trained and fit athlete or gymnast and know exactly what your limits are.
In any case, be aware that if you do it, you do this at your own risk!

The Reverse prayer position, a technique used in BDSM play, involves restraint of a person’s arms by binding them behind the person’s back, with the hands placed between the shoulders, with the fingers of both hands straight, extended, and the palms of the hands touching each other. The wrists are bound together. It is thus similar to the traditional prayer position, but with the arms behind, rather than in front of, the bound person, thus preventing use of the arms. Many people find this position painful after a time, and cramps may set in. Thus, someone bound in this position may need careful monitoring.

To immobilise the arms further, ropes or a strap are often placed round the arms and torso, pressing the arms against the back. On a woman, this can conveniently be linked to ropes for breast bondage. Another technique is to fix ropes from the elbows to a belt or other ropes round the body.

In bondage fiction, people in this position are sometimes forced to have their elbows touching, turning this into a form of elbow bondage. Very few people can adopt this position without dislocation of the shoulders. However, with many people, it is possible to press the elbows together slightly and tie them in that position.

The reverse prayer position (without any bondage) is also used in some yoga exercises.

A variety of contortion bondage positions requires a high degree of flexibility of the shoulders and upper back. Reverse Prayer (subsequently “rp”) bondage is an example for that, and, because its strictness varies with the height of the wrists position, it can also be used as a training exercise.

It is customary to bind the wrists palm-to-palm for rp positions (the name comes from the hand position imposed), although there are some variations seen with wrists crossed.

For this exercise description I impose neither of this variations, but impose that the wrists are bound behind the back so that the
backs of the hands face each other,
thus palms are pointing outwards, thus away from the body midst.

This variation has the advantage that the wrists can be tied while resting comfortably at the small of the back; pushing the wrists then downwards, e.g. while O is guided to the set, is a preliminary exercise for the puling back the shoulders, and, foremost, the wrists can be brought in a position resting between the shoulder blades without re-configuring the bind.

It is natural that O is nude for this measure, it is a very intimate measure, and this intimacy should be accounted for by the set-up.

O kneels, sitting on heels, legs closed, wrists tied as described, yet resting at the small of her back, ankles tied together, on a heavy, low bench or similar square furniture.
It is of utmost importance that the bench used is heavy enough so that that does not wiggle, let alone could tilt, if O moves up and down on it. This exercise needs a solid platform to be performed onto.

just few decimeters off the back egde of the bench (this is the edge O’s back points to) there needs to be a solid carabiner hook attached to the ceiling, with a chain that runs from O’ s position up to that hook down to a solid hook attached to the ground, to which the chain can be locked.
It is mandatory the hooks and the chain used are solid gear, and especially, that both the hooks at the ceiling at the ceiling itself can carry a O’s weight.
That is a constraint which should not be tested by this exercise, but it is a useful precautionary constraint.

The easiest test for that is if the gear can carry the supervisor when he makes a pull-up at a thick rope attached to the carabiner hook; it is imposed that the supervisor is much heavier than O. Test the chain likewise, at attend its specification.

In any case, the supervisor should be much heavier than O herself for this exercise to be able to support her if needed; so e.g. two equally slender women should not team up for this.

with the help of the supervisor, O, still firmly sitting on her heels, brings her wrists in a comfortable position below yet her shoulder blades, her back slightly arched. The chain is locked is locked to the wrist restraints, and trimmed to that length by locking the chain to the ground hook.
on a command of the supervisor (“up!”), O lifts her bottom from the heels by some decimeters. The chain is shorted just by 1 chain link using the ground hook.
on another command of the supervisor (“down!”), O slowly lowers her bottom again down to her heels.
because the chain has gotten shorter, her wrists are pulled a little higher up the back than before when sits down again.
a cycle is completed when O rests on her heels, shoulder pulled backwards, the back of her head touches the chain behind her and her back is slightly arched backwards.
then the next “up!”-straightening the chain-“down!” cycle begins.
It is natural that under the pull at the arms, O would try to evade it by bending forwards and other wriggling. This would not be not a correct exercise, so the supervisor must pay attention on that the cycles are completed properly.

This is not an exercise meant for pushing O beyond her limits, so if she says that it is enough, it is enough.

O should not be gagged during this exercise; she must be able to state if is enough for her.

But a gag ball can be inserted without fixing it so that she can keep it while she is comfortable, and spit it out when she needs to end the exercise.

Make sure that she actually can spit it out; test it!.

Because this exercise utilizes up-and-down movements of the pelvis, a dildo can be attached to the bench on which she can slowly ride during her exercises.

In addition, if O kneels on a belt long enough to wrap both her shins and thighs at once placed on top of the bench, O can be locked to the “down” position and a timer can be utilized to take the duration of how long she holds that position.

If it is done that way, another dildo or a vibo can be inserted into into the space between the belt and her private parts for providing additional clitoral stimulation.

For supervisors:
Again – This is not an exercise meant for pushing O beyond her limits, so if she says that it is enough, it is enough.
The common security measures like using caring for blood circulation, esp in the hands, never leaving a bound person alone etc, of course apply here.
